PCOS is one of the most common female endocrine hormonal disorders. It can increase the risk for infertility, metabolic syndrome, endometrial cancer and depression. Overweight and obesity are common among adolescent girls and adult women with PCOS. Clinical presentation includes menstrual irregularities, obesity, facial hair growth, acne. In Ayurveda, Vata and Kapha dosha are vitiated and block artava vaha srothas which leads to artava kshaya and anartava. The sticky and cold nature of vitiated Kapha affects pitta dosha which stands for digestive fire and thus affects the metabolism. PCOS treatments in Ayurveda are done through proper panchakarma, it may take at least 2 weeks of inpatient treatments and the internal medicines have to be continued for a longer period.
